Reflective Journal Entry - Week 3:

Q1) What did you learn about your attitudes to working in a team? Which Belbin roles did you identify with?

My attitude in a team seems to be as team co-ordinator, because I believe that I can organise the meeting times and check who is going to attend or what is the reason they are not attending. I follow up the team work and make sure that each team member comes to the meeting prepared. Additionally, I always try to assist my team members. I was identified as a coordinator Belbin role under people-orientated leadership.

Q2) Were you surprised by either your Leadership or Team Score following the first quiz? Why/why not? You don't need to specify the scores that you received - rather was it higher/lower than you expected.
Yes, I was surprised by my leadership scores. I thought I am a good team member, but the score showed that I am a good team leader. This could be that sometimes I like to follow up the work done by team members and ensure that it is done properly.

Q3) Did you identify with any of the causes of conflict? Is it something you have a tendency to do or something you have experienced from previous team projects? How will you manage this if it occurs in this team project?
One of the causes might me that the team member did not finish his/her task on time because of a personal issue. This may cause problems with related tasks that other team members have to do. This can be resolved by discussing the problem with the team member who caused the problem individually and with time he will improve.

Q4) What is important to you when working in a team?
Is to work together in a friendly environment where team members work hard together to achieve the goals and assist each other in the work if required.
